High Protein Instant Ramen Brand Story
In 2018, when the Hethstia R&D team visited a konjac planting base in the Tibetan area of Sichuan, they accidentally discovered a special dietary habit of local herders: they mixed yak cheese powder with highland barley noodles to make long-lasting, high-protein “energy noodles” for long-distance grazing. This rudimentary but intelligent formula doubles the protein content of the noodles and has a strong sense of satiety, providing lasting energy even in the cold plateau.
This discovery triggered the thinking of Professor Li, a scientific research expert in the team: “If modern people can also eat such high-protein noodles, can it solve the common problem of ‘carb dependence’ among urban people?”
After returning to the laboratory, the team began to try to combine plant proteins (such as soy protein and pea protein) with traditional wheat protein, but found that the taste was rough and difficult to be accepted by the public.
Until an accidental “failed experiment” – the researcher accidentally extruded the mixture of konjac gum and protein at high temperature, and accidentally obtained elastic and chewy “protein noodles”, which have a texture similar to pasta, but contain 3 times the protein of ordinary noodles.
